It is now less than a year till the inauguration of Bangkok’s magnificent new SuvarnabhumiAirport. Five times large than Bangkok’ s present airport, this vast new facility, representing an investment of over 150 billion Baht (US $ 30.7 billion), is the largest civil engineering project ever undertaken in Thailand. It will become Asia’s most modern and technologically advanced aviation hub and THAI will supply many key functions in the airport’s operation, with five service units, all of which are on schedule for completion by the launch date.

In a massive commitment to its future growth and success, THAI has placed orders, for a total of 22 new aircraft, with Airbus Industrial and Boeing. This unprecedented fleet expansion is projected to support the airline’s dynamic plans for route and capacity development over the coming decade.
